"Freight Fee" and "other" disappear if edited

When receiving a purchase order, if I put in the freight and/or any other fee then go and change a price above, the freight and fee disappear. Why? This does not happen if they are entered when creating the PO but I don't always have that information at that time. Requesting that they stay in place after they are entered.
