Option for Show Online when creating a new product

It would be great to have the option to choose whether an item is shown online or not when we create it. Often we create SO items that we do not want online right away. Likewise we create holiday items in mid-summer that are not in stock until Nov. Show Online could be the default but having the ability to opt out at creation would be great.
